Asterix e-cards for April Fool’s Day!

The official asterix.com website

If one day stands out in the calendar in Asterix’s village, it would have to be 1 April!
Of course, here in Gaul, April Fool’s Day is celebrated in its own novel way: we have our funny trick of sneakily sticking paper “April Fish” on our friends’ backs, so that everyone else can make fun of them!
However, as everybody knows, fish are often not very “fresh”, and can provoke friendly rows, fiery arguments and even fistfights as witnessed by the childish behaviour of the Village’s residents in their punch-ups.
Of course, it goes without saying that the famous Lutetia fish proudly laid out on Unhygienix’s stalls are celebrated with all due ceremony every 1 April… to such an extent, in fact, that some rumour has it that behind this festive celebration must be none other than the great pal of Fulliautomatix himself, since it allows him to sell off all his stock in just a few hours!
The only difference compared to our celebrations today is that, back in our Gaulish ancestors’ day, fish more often ended up in people’s faces than pinned delicately to victims’ backs…
But don’t let this stop you from enjoying the French April Fool’s Day e-cards, specially designed by Justforkix, so that you and your friends enjoy this special day!

Asterix Grand Collection and the Goths

The Grand Collection - Edition - The official asterix.com website

A few weeks after their appearance in Gaul, Asterix and the Goths and Asterix and Obelix All at Sea are now arriving in German-speaking countries in the Grand Collection format that is the envy of the whole world.
You have to think that our German cousins, already big fans of the Asterix stories for more than 40 years, do not hold too much against us for the terrible “Asterixian Wars” started by our heroes when passing through the country of the Goths.
In any case, these two magnificent new albums are naturally taking their place in Bravura’s Library and the Translation Exchange.

Edifis & Superfluous

Encyclopedia - The official asterix.com website

It's no secret to druid Getafix that the effects of the magic potion, whose recipe he created, continue to amaze us all! The two characters being inducted today into the EncyclObelix, a real bestiary by Goscinny and Uderzo, can certainly attest to this: Edifis, whom the fine beverage helped to escape, against all odds, from the sacred crocodiles of the Queen of Queens, and Superfluous, the Roman soldier whose intimidating set of muscles and great self-confidence didn't count for much when faced with a weedy Egyptian spy tanked up on magic potion!

Albert Uderzo’s birthday slideshow

The official asterix.com website - Games and contests

A few days ago, the mystery has been revealed regarding the great contest offering you the chance to win your seat at the great banquet organised for the celebration of Albert Uderzo’s eightieth birthday.
As a the cruel (so cruel!) rules of this exclusive game forbid us, here in the virtual Village, to try our luck, we, in spite of everything, have decided to send our best wishes to the co-creator of Asterix with a slideshow going back over his whole career.
Here is, on Doubleclix’ Blog, the first chapter of this Gaulish animation movie.
The complete version is to be discovered here!
