If one day stands out in the calendar in Asterix’s village, it would have to be 1 April! Of course, here in Gaul, April Fool’s Day is celebrated in its own novel way: we have our funny trick of sneakily sticking paper “April Fish” on our friends’ backs, so that everyone else can make fun of them!
However, as everybody knows, fish are often not very “fresh”, and can provoke friendly rows, fiery arguments and even fistfights as witnessed by the childish behaviour of the Village’s residents in their punch-ups.
Of course, it goes without saying that the famous Lutetia fish proudly laid out on Unhygienix’s stalls are celebrated with all due ceremony every 1 April… to such an extent, in fact, that some rumour has it that behind this festive celebration must be none other than the great pal of Fulliautomatix himself, since it allows him to sell off all his stock in just a few hours!
The only difference compared to our celebrations today is that, back in our Gaulish ancestors’ day, fish more often ended up in people’s faces than pinned delicately to victims’ backs…
But don’t let this stop you from enjoying the French April Fool’s Day e-cards, specially designed by Justforkix, so that you and your friends enjoy this special day!

Here are the five Indomitables who, thanks to the on-going renovation work on the Asterix albums, are going to put some colour into their lives!
A few weeks after their appearance in Gaul, Asterix and the Goths and Asterix and Obelix All at Sea are now arriving in German-speaking countries in the Grand Collection format that is the envy of the whole world.

Here, in Gaul, where our indomitable banquets are world famous, we know something about celebration! And when our virtual Village team thinks about celebrating Albert Uderzo’s eightieth birthday, Asterix fans have their place of honour at the banquet.
