The 2nd round of the 2006 Tournament of the Indomitables is now over, and some players' remarkable results deserve to be noticed. Congratulations to Rajah Watzit, who brilliantly defeated the terrifying Olaf Timandahaf in a memorable game. While only a few Romans are still in the game, Nefarius Purpus didn’t give Winesanspirix a chance to beat him, and will stand as a strong competitor for Fulliautomatix in the next round. This 3rd round, now played on a Londinium grass until the 10th of July, offers some outstanding duels: Obelix vs Baba, the Pirate lookout, Cleopatra against Justforkix, or Dogmatix trying to give Influenza a taste of her own medicine.

Just a few days left before Father’s Day! Justforkix is helping you prepare for a celebration worthy of the name, by offering you his selection of e-cards specially designed for the occasion. The services of all the fathers in the Universe of Asterix have been called upon: Astronomix, Asterix’s father, Huevos y Bacon, whose praises are sung by his dutiful son Pepe, and even Obelix, who practises his role of daddy by giving the bottle to the baby he doesn’t yet know is the son of Caesar and Cleopatra! Happy Father’s Day!
No, I’m not talking about the dog Huntinseassen having a sniff round our female bard’s bookshop, but Asterix and the Class Act, whose cover is taking its place in the Danish collection shown on the
The first round of the Tournament of the Indomitable 2006 reached its culmination accompanied by breathtaking suspense.
After a difficult start, Panacea finally lived up to her number 4 seeding against Caius Preposterus, while Caesar was typically obstinate and imperious versus Bravura, and Ekonomikrisis prevailed over Varius Flavus after some tough combat. Thoughts will now turn to the 2nd round, taking place until 26 June and again featuring some mouth-watering clashes, most notably the charming duel pitting Geriatrix’s wife against the delightful Miss Bicarbonatofsoda, the Iberian- Briton encounter between Anticlimax and chief Huevos y Bacon, or even more the meeting of Beefix and Pepe. New additions to Bravura’s bookshop: 3 albums now complete the Polish collection (Asterix the Gaul, Asterix and the Class Act, and Asterix and the Normans - with the new cover drawn by Albert Uderzo for the release of the Asterix and the Vikings film). You’ll notice the care Bravura has taken to faithfully transcribe the letters of the Polish alphabet (while you’re at it, take a look at the Asterix albums in Korean, they’re amazing!). Our polyglot bard truly deserves her name!
