And the winners of the Asterix Quiz are…

Games and contests

Try your luck at the Asterix Quiz – April Session and win copies of the Cherche et Trouve Astérix (“Find Asterix”) book!

And since each Asterix Quiz is a game in itself, we’ll take advantage of this occasion to reveal the lucky winners from previous sessions.

In November, a copy of Asterix and Obelix’s Birthday: the Golden Book crowned the talents of Jean-Claude COHEN SOLAL, Joël CORBIC, Hadi EL-SHIBIBI, Edelweis KOLP and Clément LHEUREUX.

In December, Gael Rouxel, Patrick Veyret, Alain Charrier, Nuno Silva Reis and Nathalie Cardinal carried off a Nintendo DS video game: Asterix: These Romans are Crazy!

And in January, Annie FEUILLAS, Jean-Claude LE GOUIL, Rolland MESGUICHE, Christian KLEIN and Hélène VERDEAU were each awarded a series of Asterix and the Class Act albums in six French regional languages (Picard, Alsatian, Corsican, Gallo, Breton and Occitan). Hats off to you all!

Video Games to be Won!

Games and contests

Asterix in 2009 means 50 years of success in the world of comic books. What is less well known is that it is also marks 25 years of video game history! For proof, take the first Asterix video game, produced in 1984 under the sober title of Asterix. Now of course, given that technology has progressed over the past 25 years at the speed of light thanks to a quaff of magic potion, the screen shots of yesteryear do tend to bring an indulgent smile to our face…

But at a time when "vintage" games are now "cult" items and music from the most famous games is played in concert by symphony orchestras, we shouldn't forget that this game left its mark on history. If the truth is to be known, it even brought out a cold sweat on the brows of the most brilliant gamers since it determined the winners at the formidable national and regional championship finals that were in fashion back then.

Today, Asterix and his friends are back with a brand-new game for the Nintendo DS. "Asterix - These Romans are Crazy!" is going to test your reflexes. This "party game", as the Gauls now call them, will lead you through a series of adventures via a sort of snakes and ladders game comprised of 20 mini-games that take you through four different universes:

  • the Gaulish village
  • the Roman camp
  • the forest
  • the seashore.

Everything it takes to thrill fans of all ages and enjoy fun with your family! The game offers a 2-player mode, playing by turns on the same Nintendo DS™.

By Toutatis, now this is something to be celebrated in our virtual Asterix.com Village! So, throughout the month of December, five "Asterix - These Romans are Crazy!" games can be won thanks to our Asterix Quiz! Here's wishing you all good luck!

Asterix Quiz

Games and contests

The Asterix quiz can sometimes be cruel… Looking at the number of mistakes made during our November session, most of the participants must have looked like Obelix trying desperately to remember the date of the Battle of Gergovia in "Asterix and the Class Act"…

Fortunately, the challenge launched in our last Missive by Tapidesourix incited many experts ès Asterix to try their luck. Among them, five Indomitable Gauls won a copy of the "Asterix at the Olympic Games" album from the Grand Collection: Chantal VANDOOLAEGHE, Céline RICHARD, Françoise VERTESSEN, Yannick CHALVIGNAC and Daniel OLIVEAU.

In December, it was the "Asterix and the Great Divide" album from the Grand Collection that did the honours, rewarding Martine ALONSO, Sylvie ANGRAND, Ariane FOBELETS, Andy GROSSO and Olivier BAUER.

And what about January, you ask? It's of course our favourite of the month, the brand new edition of "How Obelix Fell Into The Magic Potion When He Was A Little Boy", which will reward the most outstanding participants in our Asterix Quiz. Wait no longer! Try your luck at the Asterix Quiz!

You have until the end of the month to try your luck and make a mockery of our IT druid's pessimism. Good luck to one and all!

Asterix Prize Quiz

Games and contests

It’s competition time and exam time too: with baccalaureates, A-levels, high-school and college-entrance exams, pupils are revising, hoping to resit an oral, celebrating their success or anxiously awaiting their results …
In the gb.asterix.com virtual village, there are exams all year round! Every month, the feared and dreaded Asterix Quiz gives you the chance to win Asterix prizes. But there’s only one catch: you have to know all the Asterix adventures inside out!
We have five expert winners of our May Quiz, who will all be receiving two Astérix in Picard albums: Estelle Schouver, Sophie de la Vaissiere, Christelle Sverin, Véronique Guillot and Jérôme Delugeard. But they’ll hardly have any time to rest on their laurels: a new Astérix Quiz is here, with prizes of two Asterix at the Olympic Games puzzles to be won by the lucky ones among you.
It’s also the chance to discover our new set of pages dedicated to Asterix puzzles. And of course there’s no point in telling you that your favourite heroes, who love nothing more than to scatter Roman patrols “like jigsaw pieces”, have put all their heart and soul into designing these pages!

Asterix Quiz

Games and contests

While some in the gb.asterix.com virtual village are struggling to keep their wits about them as they try to answer the questions in our May Quiz to win two Asterix albums in Picard, our druid technicians have been going through the results of the Asterix Quiz April session.
And there's a surprise in store: it's a complete disaster for the Gauls! It's our Iberian friends who strut their stuff with four Spanish winners: Abraham García Romero, Nuria Lopez Carrascosa, Alba Dasairas Bouzada and Ariana Prado Prado. And the fifth winner, Rosemarie Manso, is a resident of Belgium, showing that the Belgians are the bravest of all the Gaulish peoples who took part in the Quiz!
All of them will receive a set of figurines depicting Brutus and his imperial chariot, straight out of the Asterix at the Olympic Games film. The remedy for the others is more lenient: all that remains for you to do is to get back into reading your Asterix albums so that you, too, can excel in our next Asterix Quiz!
